Lets make it a little clearer for some investors who get tired of sifting through the junk.

OPT presently shows a mkt cap of $222 million at last nights close of $0.335 with 663 million shares on issue.

They've have just issued in effect 160 million shares at $0.46 to Insto's for $74 million cash.

They've issued some 16 million shares at $0.46 to retail for $8 million cash.

They reported $89 million cash at June financial year end. They should have now $171 million in cash, minus whatever they've burnt through towards September month end, probably some $20-30 million on recent trends.

When the new shares are properly listed and priced in, OPT should have a market cap, vs $0.325 last trade of (663 + 160 + 16) million shares x $0.325 = $273 million mkt cap.

Megan and co. can point to the $8 billion wet AMD mkt potential all they like, but they will need to tap Carlyle and Abingworth for that extra $50 million to get there and maybe some other sources. A partnership with a little upfront payment would be nice. But with some $140million+ cash on hand as we speak $130 million balance value for the businesses' forward value seems a bit cheap to me.

Its funny how more recently in the most commonly used retail broker site, a couple of new analysts joined the crowd to declare OPT a sell. Where were they at $1 a year ago? Or even $0.60 some 90 days ago? A sell at $0.40 me thinks not and nor did a truck load of Insto's eagerly buying at $0.46.


OPT was not a buy at $1 or $0.60, but have to think its becoming so at these levels with so much cash on board - yes the retail entitlement came up short, but the Insto' oversubscribed and pushed up by $10 million a few weeks ago. That shortfall will be mopped up pretty quickly.
