I was just at the dentist, and got bumped from the usual guy (on leave) to the main dentist who owns the whole practice and does the bigger jobs. Anyway, I brought up the Optiscan tech with real time pathology, but the opinion was, as general dentists can't recognize cancer cells or do that type of surgery, the patient would be referred to a specialist and in fact there is only one on the Gold Coast and a few in Brisbane. So it is unlikely dentists would be up for spending the money for a device, but universities and surgeries.
However, she brought up AI being recently developed to recognise the cancer and if it was 70%+ accurate, that would be a great development.
