Waste doesn't matter when the energy is free and H2 conversion to ammonia make a lot of sense for easy transport and storage for example.
Not only for ships, you should look into what FMG/FFI are up to.
However there are major companies worldwide onto this, even from the fossil fuel industry and locally FMG/FFI probably holds more patents on the matter than anybody else.
AUZ just wants a bit more publicity with this because it is fashion, nothing else.
No way do they have the funds for any R&D, not even remotely possible to get something like this even past proof of concept stage, where the major players are holding all the cards and do have the funds.
BTW Green hydrogen has nothing to do with methane.
