Exactly. It's literally how the geology works. These deposits are essentially lava flows buried by millions of years of rock. Where you find buried lava, you'll generally find more buried lava.
The reason why people haven't found this buried lava sooner was that it was covered by more rock than the discoveries before it (and hence wasn't detected by magnetic surveys and the like).
