yes, you are correct rosencrantz...I was not meaning to suggest it would help the share price in the short to medium term, as the fee earning fum contracts with the market decline, and multiples paid for fund management businesses would also contract on top of that. I was merely suggesting that it would provide PTM an opportunity to show they are still relevant...but that is only IF they can outperform in said bear market...and the jury is definitely out regarding whether they can deliver any alpha at all, and that is the basic problem. They haven't delivered any in a very long time, but the high fees remain.
