My personal bet/theory is that commodity prices will stay subdued for the rest of this year & early into next year, upon which after Chinese New Year the Chinese gov't will come out with some stimmy to boost the flagging economy. Also around that time as we start calendar 2024, Western economies will start to cut interest rates a bit to stimulate things
I'm thus gonna be accumulating more NIC and more of my other materials stocks over the back half of this year (notable exclusion of iron ore as I believe the Chinese real estate sector megagrowth has largely run its course).
All just a theory obviously, but feels like a good time to accumulate during this relative lull in commodities/economic slowdown.
