Burty I have given up trying to figure out whats what with Reids Dome. The geology is complex. There are multiple coal seams down to and exceeding 2km, there is shallow conventional gas and deeper between the coal layers. There are gas bearing shales some 25m in total @ Nyanda4 and the whole dome is overpressurised @ 100psi over the hydrostatic pressure. Atypically the coal seams vary from 40+m at Nyanda to 27m @ Serecold and only 14m to the north @ Aldinga. Nyanda started flowing significant gas before the dewatering even reached the first recognised coal seam. I think all we can say is that RD is a very gassy little dome and no matter where you drill you will find gas from coal, sandstone and shale and the whole thing is sealed hence the very high gas content of the coal. Trying to quantify anything is damn difficult and I am resigned to waiting for the brains trust to tell us what they can, when they can. If they say that the results so far are very encouraging then I will just run with that. Even if Nyanda is a top notch CSG well it is hardly reflective of the whole dome , so I am just hoping when they have done all their maths that they come up with around 500BCF. Feral
