By my calculations, PDL was bought for $1.92 billion, including borrowings of $757m for the cash consideration. This cash consideration needs to be added back to the market cap of the combined PPT when comparing the market caps. Based on this, the market is valuing the Pendal business at $774m. So about $1.2 billion value lost (or mis-pricing by market, take your pick).
