About four weeks ago I looked at my portfolio and decided it was time to move out of Australian shares which I had been in since Sept 2003 and into cash. Unfortunately I didn't move staight away because of work commitments and had to wait for the market to make a moderate recovery before moving out completely on 30th of March.
Now I'm no rocket scientist but can read a chart, and the charts I were reading were telling me I had done extremely well and it was time to take profits and sit on the sidelines.
Now this I thought was a safe punt but I could also miss out on the next leg up if there was one until I read a post by Grant62. This guy is the most switched on poster on this fourum imo and his opinion was get out and fast, which I did.
The morale of the story is follow your head, read everything Grant62 has to say and don't worry about being called a coward for moving out of the market when all the signals tell you to.
Sometimes sitting on the sidelines is the best place to be!
