we will see alright. The biggest driving force behind this tech is the airlines. Not that it detects cracks they can do that already with NDT but it’s the savings they make by doing it from a 15 min check at the gates. NDT can take up to 3 days in a hanger to strip down the area needing tests, do the tests then restore it all. The hanger rental, labour costs to strip and restore, expensive NDT work and the big one lost ticket sales. The airlines will push this not Boeing to much money saved and then of cause improved safety benefits to consider.Airlines need to push Boeing to pull their finger out, customer is always right.
