To be fair to Pfizer, they offered a price almost 30% above the market value at the time and they've also thrown in a "free" $3 million up front R&D payment, which they didn't really need to.
It's that R&D payment that makes the situation interesting and makes it much less likely Pzifer would want to walk away.
