No prob. Tax is an issue also.
So that 50% trading gain is 35% and the 70% is 50% after tax. And no one is going to hit those spots all the time, nor get winning trades all the time.

I've got a couple of entries either side of 4.5c, after taking a small loss on a failed entry in early Jan. Mostly the perfect trade takes a couple of shots to hold. I remember one of the market wizards talking about a legendary short, that they made a severely life changing motza on, saying that what didn't get talked about was that he got stopped out seven times before he got it to hold.

You get lucky sometimes, but trading is an accumulation of more losses than winners and/or bigger winners than losers. And few of the trades along the way are perfect. Trading on fundamentals is much the same. You can improve your odds with knowledge, but no-one can understand the whole competitive market place or predict the future. It is always an informed punt. Which is why, as you say, cutting losses is crucial. And never put on a bet that can do serious damage.
