I don't know if it's your inability to think about the answers to your own questions first or you're just questioning everything for the sake of it, like a kid who's got an unquenchable thirst to ask "why?". I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're serious in your line of questioning, in which case, this line of reasoning ultimately falls into the category of why does a company operate as it does.
