I personally agree with you jberry.
But personal and philosophical emotions have no place when it comes to investing.
As individuals we are powerless to change the narrative or influence government policy.
The reality is that government is in a pro-renewables cycle, and will use their resources (and your tax dollars) to achieve its goals.
Therefore for myself as an investor I have to factor this into the future intrinsic value of the traditional electricity providers. And it doesn't look good.
(and there is no way I am investing in some of the listed renewable plays, they also barely/don't make money)
