I caught sight of shadow minister Ed Miliband’s new thought bubble at the weekend.
Instead of mass battery storage (which is clearly not an option for several decades) he now wants people to install their very own 13.5kw battery in their house. Apart from the £6000 cost (and built in redundancy , adding further cost) it will only power the average house for 8hrs.
More imports, more cost and more mineral consumption and still nothing more than a bandaid. And how about the cheek of this policy to pass the cost of storage onto the individual.
I’m sure the insurance industry is really happy with this ludicrous idea of putting batteries in house. House insurance will go through the roof. Honestly, I weep for the poor old Pom right now.
