That’s the obvious plan. Meanwhile, use the time to lobby for a change from Labour, work on the new leases (in the hope they get awarded) and look for ways to refine capex. Given that multiple project are likely to be affected the longer this takes to resolve, the more willing construction contractors will be to drop their price.
We may think this is a dud but the reality is that the UK is rolling out new gas fired power stations and Shell (as per my earlier post) are bluntly telling government that they will need more gas not less if they want to avoid blackouts. Doesn’t sound like Labour will have much option. It’s just how long it takes for the penny to drop, IMO.
