If anything is going to drive the sp up it will have to be good news or great news, rather than consolidation. Consolidation is an administrative overhead, unnecessary fiddling.
Let's just pray that this consolidation will be an exception to the norm where after consolidation the sp gravitates back to the pre-consolidation direction.
