A very good Afternoon to you Paradigmers,

Today I thought it was a good time to compare Annual report to Annual Report. Its not a comprehensive comparison, in fact in this post Im just going to concentrate on Shareholder holdings and how its changed from year to year. I'm sure you guys can draw quite a few conclusions but firstly take a look at the below graphic and then I will discuss a few points, I'm sure you can add some insights as well. Hopefully you can click on the image to view it with a bit more clarity?

The Key to below is as follows:

Ok so what can we draw from this? Well the top two spots, our CEO has maintained from 2018 to 2019 - tick, a good sign...yes a slight dilution in terms of overall percentage held but not too concerning in my books.
Citicorp, I'm guessing this is an institution (yes yes I know Citgroup is a multinational investment bank but in this capacity it might be a holding on behalf of a single or group of investors?). Its a fairly large jump up the ranks from 8th to 3rd spot. A few have dropped off as the top 20 threshold has risen from a min of about 1.07 mil shares to 1.437, no doubt mainly due to the cap raise along with a few new members to the list of top 20 and while my holdings are significant in my little world, Paradigmers no I don't feature in there anywhere. confused.png

The other takeaway is just how few institutions there are in the above list. The top 20 hold 44.79% of the register. As a comparative, the CBA top 20 command 49.72% of the total (ordinary) shares (I choose CBA as a totally different company in a different industry that is large...they are also PAR's bankers but thats not relevant). CSL's top 20 hold 68%.

Ok now lets take a peak at overall holders breakdown...

    Here is 2018:

Ok what can we draw from this one? Well we are slowly getting popular eh'? From 1595 to 4902, whats that, an approximate 207% increase in individuals. Its still small...just under 5000 of us. Incidently CSL has some 19,500 shareholders! We are going to get to this size one day right?

Lets graph this one up to see how each band has changed over time, easier to see a pic than decipher and compare numbers...

Look at the growth from LY to TY in in the first 3 bands..ie shareholders with under 100,000 shares...and specially the third band, these are "mum's and dad's" investors..I reckon it paints quite telling picture as the whole graph will change in a year or two in my views as institutions jump on board...lets update this again next year.

Notes: Don't forget this is just annual report to annual report, figures can vary but I reckon it hasn't changed much since the last report.
    As always - DYOR
