Do your homework as to what the Roman leader of the day that united with the CC's was following and then you might see Why he was happy to unite with the CC's sun god alignment.
Also check out documented history, of many astounding claims and positions that Poops have claimed they are in and what they represent.

Please provide links to support your claims. As you have done your homework this should be easy for you.

While at it, all their claims and thoughts re Mary.
As well as this Fatima nonsense, and the links there to Muslims and the many other common grounds with them.

What claims and thoughts about Mary?
Scientists can't explain the "Fatima nonsense" but @wotsup who is clueless about science and religion can.

They claim they built upon the Rock to which the gates of hades would not prevail upon = In no way whatsoever, anything would prevail.
@wotsup doesn't believe the Bible which is quite an admission from him.
BUT by Jo, did it prevail on them BIG time for hundreds of years.
The answer to your question is yes.
@wotsup is too stupid to notice that it is still prevailing after 2000 years.
The fact of the matter is though, the Rock that the Church = (people) would be built upon is -> That Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God = ZERO gates of hades will prevail on that TRUTH.
@wotsup is too stupid to realise that Jesus was talking to Peter and not to himself when he told him that he (Peter) was the rock on which he would build his church.
The church referred to is the people. You do have the odd moments of brilliance.
Where as building it on an ordinary man, who was a living stone, as he defines others, Jesus would NOT have said the gates of hades will not prevail, and you naturally would have other men coming after Peter.
Is that what Jesus would have refrained from saying if he could make out what @wotsup meant?
