If you dont believe God sent his son from eternity,then this verse applies,and it applied to the jews and for example applies to trinitarians today which is by far the biggest belief in christiandom today for example,or the new age,Buddha etc etc none believe Jesus was the Christ,its the reason Jesus was crucified he said he was the son of God which means the king of the jews
When Paul was converted,it says straight away he went into the synagogues and preached that Jesus was the son of God
