It's only a week or so we had the spectacle of an Englishman released from prison after 17 years but now proved innocent.
Today in NSW we had someone who had been arrested in an arranged press & TV spectacle some time back over that disappearance of the Tyrell boy in 2014. He was later released after some detectives had gained huge kudos for the arrest but his and his family's lives were wrecked anyway.
You'd think they would make sure they had a watertight case before they put innocent people through such trauma.
I mean it's not balance of probabilities is it, it's supposed to be beyond reasonable doubt.
