I live closer to the equator than any resident of Aus, and mosquitoes are a bit of an issue with dengue, which is none too nice when you cop it. I'm a bit more lax than some, but try and keep the residence impenetrable. So there is usually the odd one flying around. There's none tonight.
Last night was pre-Xmas cheers with the expat boys and I got my fill and more. Upon missing the market and awakening around midday, my sweetheart pointed out about 20 dead mosquitoes on the bedroom floor. The place is kept spotless and we have never witnessed this before, yet nothing in the environment has changed. They never bite her, only me. Is it possible they died from alcohol poisoning? Could it be something else? The whole canary in the coal mine thing is playing in my mind.
