There seems to be a close correlation between political affiliation and the zealousness of alarmists. The alarmist story seems to be a convenient tool for with those who are anti industry and wish to redistribute wealth anyway. There are few on the left who are willing to speak against alarmism, even the coal mining unions. Yet if this were merely a question of science or logic there should be an equal fraction of the left and right who are sceptics.
On the right of politics opinion is split. Turnbull is an alarmist, Abbott was a denier.
So how did this unanimity of opinion on the left come about. Perhaps some of those on the left are saying things they don't really believe, they are lying. Perhaps they have all been convinced beyond doubt. Or perhaps they are naïve and believe in AGW because the party says so.
