I agree the gov dropped the ball to shore up the financial mess at expense of tackling the health issues with all their powers. A typical Treat the symptoms not the ailment.
politicians recommending to “ still go to the gym” “we will cancel the footy after the weekend” “get out and support local businesses that are doing hard” “go about your daily business, the economy can’t grind to a halt” all these were public statements by premiers and the PM encouraging people to do the wrong things in sight of a health crises.
now they are still playing footy( without spectators) so the sporting organisations and broadcasters still have their wheels turning. With players , medics,officials,logistics,broadcasters etc etc etc there is probably still 1000 people in close contact each game. Do the maths.
australia made the same mistake as Malaysia did with congregation. Let’s see what happens to the numbers
