It's an interesting article, and it leaves me wondering whether pedophiles were attempting to create an alliance with the homosexual movement, rather than homosexuals reaching out to pedophiles. That notion seems supported by the article, as the author writes "For the pedophiles, the alliance with the gay movement was nothing but beneficial. They had a platform from which they could formulate objectives" and that "beginning in the mid-1980s, the gay movement in Germany began to distance itself from pedophiles".

So, this only takes place over a couple of years, in a single country, and was detrimental to the actual goals of the homosexual movement.

It reads more like the homosexual movement was hijacked: "Suddenly gays had to fight back against the cliche of the homosexual child molester. Their actual goals, like the creation of an effective AIDS policy and the end of societal discrimination, were relegated to the background".

The prominent feminist cited in the article Alice Schwarzer stated that "today, pedophilia is not an issue among gays. There are more heterosexual pedophiles than homosexual ones".

Honestly, if you use this dated information to 'inform' your very negative opinion of the broad LGBTI global community in 2018, you should consider whether your beliefs could be updated somewhat.

    Cheers.
