    There is no reason anyone should feel guilty about anything that happened in the distant past in which living people were not involved. However we do need to acknowledge history and have some respect for what was and how that may effect the present.

    Regards ATSI people most today are mixed blood so have varied ancestry and a complicated cultural history. Where I live many are a mix of Aboriginal/Islander, European and Asian. The full-blood ATSI person is gradually disappearing and today are usually only found in remote parts of the country.
