The Islamic faith is on a spectrum with many spin offs some are violent but the great majority are not.
Shia have a single leader like Catholics. The Sunnis don't have the same centralisation. More like Protestant with many leaders. This means you can have spin offs that go to extremes. It's not right to judge all Muslims as one group. It's like saying Southern Pentecostal snake preachers represent Catholics. It's ignorant.
