PAYG and all other taxes should be abolished and we should only have a GST on absolutely everything - that way everyone fairly pays based on their lifestyle expenditure. Yes this would have to be phased in over time and yes adjustments will need to be made to balance out things for people on lower incomes/govt benefits - but it is the fairest method of taxation and it removes the argument that people don't pay enough tax on incomes.
