enoggera, yes you are correct, also other than defence personnel they do not allow postal voting.
Any ex-pat out of the Country for the past 18 months was allowed to vote at the referendum, however they had to make the journey back home to place their vote, apparently quite a few did just that.
Must admit the outcome is surprising, I would have thought if we in Oz leave it to the poli's, chances are it would also be a ' yes ' vote, however I thought with a referendum it would be a " NO ", because of our compulsory voting would we get a different out come to Ireland, $64 k question ?
