Equipment will be part of the technologies applied in the copper plant of Pará.
The Avanco Resources, Australian exploration and development company of copper projects, adopted a press filter VPA 1540-20 of Metso in the project that is building between Curionópolis and Parauapebas, in para. The manufacturer, which was delivered complete earlier this year and is in the process of Assembly, has the capacity to process around of 90 thousand tons of concentrate per year. The equipment is similar to that used by the copper plant of the Valley in peace.
For Ricardo Takeda, sales manager of Metso, the differential of the company was to offer a robust filtering solution that met the needs of the plant. "The Advance is, without doubt, a very important and promising customer for Metso, because is starting its operations in Brazil right now," he says.
Takeda also underscores the structure that Metso has to support new project: a service factory and distribution centre located within 15 km of the Development Plan. "In addition, we have extensive experience in copper processing operations, which makes us able to contribute to the development and success of this project," explains.
Among the features of press filter provided, Ricardo Takeda highlights the robust construction, suitable for mining operations; the precision in the manufacture of plates machined polypropylene filtering; the ease and speed in the exchange of filter fabrics (operation that can be performed in minutes); few moving parts that guarantee low maintenance and high availability; and a control system by PLC (programmable logic controller), for automatic and intelligent filtering operation.
The project, which aims to extract ore from the mine Antas North, will be operational from 2016. The scope of the plant includes a dig simple, storage area and homogenization of raw ore crushing plant in two stages, closed circuit grinding, three stages of flotation, dewatering and filtration system and waste handling facilities.
When you're finished, Advance plant will produce about 45 thousand tons of copper concentrate a year – which is about 12 thousand tonnes of contained copper. The export of the concentrate is made in containers and in bulk, through the Port Vila do Conde, located 800 km drive.
