Friedland was certainly looking to get involved in a North American venture, not too long ago.
"Friedland's Ivanhoe Capital Acquisition Corp (IVAN_u.N) said Jan. 11 it raised $276 million through a public share float to invest in green industries". He mentioned exploring the US via a Toronto forum, interestingly enough, but the Nunavut region certainly would suit his criteria, as he stated in one of the previously posted videos, that he can now only mine in environments where evaporation exceeds precipitation. i.e. not Brazil, as the flooding of minerals and breaching of tailings dams are too hazardous. He specifically mentioned a number of deserts.
Sediment hosted copper bodies are his company's forte.
