It's a good thing (I think) because of the dominant position of the big four.
Without it all the smaller outfits would be gone. Maybe AMP and Macquarie would survive.
But it's a lousy deal for taxpayers because the govt doesn't charge anything for the guarantee which imo sucks!
It should be optional to insure or not snd there should be a cost for it.
