The largest economy, the most powerful military and the world reserve currency, I think the americans will decide whether their economy is in default of their debt obligations. As longs as it is the currency of choice for global trade transaction, they can print as many USD as the world wants. It is what it is.
If US defaults then the rest if the world is in trouble regardless of where gold is heading. I go back to the $70 trillion figure, something even US cannot handle so folk here are suggesting no one will bother tackling the problem because it is too hard or too big? At least be realistic is the assumptions instead of comic fantasy imaginations. It makes very poor and amateurish contents fit for frustration blow off only but no realism feature.
