Absolutely, GS wrote the book on market manipulation.
Although not alone, GS will release a damning report on a company after it has taken a major short position, and later release a shiny new positive report after it has built a major long position. Rinse-repeat.
GS will play any manipulation and dirty trick it can get away with, and all the while with tacit approval of the ASX and ACIC.
