    So I guess the point you are trying to make is that a country of some 27M people and has 1000 battery fires in a year or 1 battery fire for every 27,000 people years.

    On the other hand a country of some 330M people had 96 petrochemical incidents in a year or one for every 3,437,500 people years.

    In other words the incidence of battery fires vs petrochemical incidents is roughly 127 times as high.

    I also note that as the batteries causing these incidents are relatively new/lightly used the use per capita is likely to increase substantially going forward which will likely result in a further deterioration of the relative safety of the two items YOU have chosen to compare.
