I pay 30c KWH; nuclear retail 10c KWH in US.

    Nuclear far cheaper than ruinables

The 30c is Ergon in Cairns (black coal) and Red Energy (mix, coal, hydro, wind solar)
    on Mornington Peninsula.

In October 2022, Chris Bowen lobbed a lazy $13.7 million at a company that planned to build a giant hydrogen production plant in Brisbane.

The Energy Minister said building the 500MW Gibson Island electrolyser was “critical” to turning Australia into a green energy superpower, exporting clean hydrogen and ammonia to the world.

The electrolyser will be the largest built to date, feeding renewable hydrogen directly into the first fully decarbonised ammonia facility.

Eighteen months later, the Gibson Island project has fallen in a heap.

Arizona's Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station is the second largest power plant in the USA, with a capacity of 3.9 GW.

It has run without incident since 1986 at Tonopah, 75km south of Pheonix.

The operating cost, including fuel and maintenance, was estimated to be 4.3 US cents in 2015.

“Twiggy” Forrest told the National Press Club in February that the Coalition’s push for nuclear energy was “bulldust” and a “new lie”.Yet Forrest’s most promising investment in green hydrogen will be fuelled in part at least by nuclear. Go figure.
