Chips and copper!!

Goldman Sachs' paper called "Copper is the New Oil". The thesis is well known as copper grades are declining and there have been limited new projects approved this decade. In addition, the green transition (including now Artificial Intelligence) will require large amounts of copper.

While some  still believe the current rise in copper is mostly due to pure speculation, the majority of analysts now see the writing on the wall with copper supply and demand.

As Goldman Sachs said at the Cesco Week symposium in Chile during April 2024, the price of copper is currently "(in the) foothills of what will be its Everest over the next 3 to 5 years."
