How long can the U.S. maintain its export revenue with the USD so strong. It has to be hurting the U.S. balance of trade figures and they cant lower rates any further so what do they do? Their economy is just stagnate with the building industry teetering from one quarter to the next. Do they raise rates and risk driving the building industry into collapse and causing another meltdown with home owners. It would smash a lot of industry as it would in Australia. With no real growth in the U.S. other than the military weapons industry what do they do. Cant raise rates and yet they really need to. The rest of the world needs to recover before the U.S. recovers. The EU is the U.S. biggest importer and they are a basket case and will be for decades to come, the IMF and the Wold Bank are running out of money. It seems that China along with the Russian economy may well be the real drivers of world growth in the near term. Given that China is in the first stages of a melt down in their building and property market it is not looking good for the world economy at all.
