One of my largest holdings, here in the States, is a company called Solid Power (ticker symbol SLDP on NASDAQ). Their main raison d'etre is the development of solid state batteries, and they're well along. Their partners include Ford (already filed a patent with SLDP IP included), SK On (working with Ford) and BMW, which is already building a prototype cell manufacturing line in Bavaria with SLDP IP and engineers assisting.

All of that said, each version they are developing utilize just as much Lithium as "normal" Lithium ion cells. Some use NCM and some use Silicon, but they all use Lithium.

In the event that ANY company, be it Toyota, Solid Power, or the others I researched before investing in Solid Power, the one commonality (besides the solid state concept) is that they ALL utilized Lithium in the Cathode. The development, if/when it happens will be revolutionary in the battery manufacturing industry and the EV market, but it will NOT affect the need for Lithium.

    Best regards, all
