After the absolute debacle that was the MCAS in the 737 MAX 8, I thought it would be unlikely that Boeing would ever recover. Although its easy to be critical in hindsight the MCAS was such a flawed design with critically limited redundancy I thought the lawsuits arising from all the dead passengers families combined with the damage to their reputation would mean that Boeing was cactus.

I was wrong, a couple of years later it had all blown over, the regulators had let the MAX 8 back in the air and the MAX 9 was in production. No one seemed at all worried about Boeings poor engineering record until now when it seems that the inevitable has happened again. It has only been pure chance that more lives were not lost because of Boeings poor engineering standards.

Anyway now these latest misdemeaners have occurred surely the regulators need to come down hard on Boeing and protection should be given for all whistle blowers as well.
