Mate, these days with instant news on TV and social media we hear of every thing that happens near and far. I don't know the stats on crime and if in fact it is increasing significantly.
Drugs have always been a driver of crime, heroin in the past and these day's ice. I would advocate giving addicts drugs for free to reduce crime they commit and put dealers out of business.
Maybe I am lucky, only time I lock my front door is when I am away for more than a day. My fluffy german spitz seems to see off anyone that doesn't need to come to the door. Yes I have copped a few relatively minor intrusions but not to the point I have had to consider serious security measures.
I did add a alarm to the warehouse and added a centre lock to the roller door to prevent it getting rammed.
