How is that untrue? That is called lobbying and is done by those with deep pockets.
They don't have elections but so far it seemed to have worked well for them. They are trying to model themselves to be like Singapore. Pretty much one party government with "elections" but they are probably the best govt in the world.
Australia needs to move towards technocracy.... not a bunch of lawyers/businessmen who have deep enough pockets to be policy makers.
