Newcrest and AusMex are both exploring the same anomaly near Cloncurry. Listening to the Ausmex is Going for Gold video, it is stated that Newcrest has just returned to carry out the second round of drilling. 'Just returned' would appear to give a date in November given that the presentation was uploaded late November.

It would be handy to know the Newcrest results from the first round of six 1000m diamond drill holes. In the Newcrest Briefing Book dated September 2018, Canteen is listed as one of 5 projects within Australia where they are 'targeting orebodies which fit our skills'. I assume that the assay results may not necessarily be published as it may not be market sensitive information for Newcrest. it would certainly, however, be market sensitive news for Ausmex.

So what are the orebodies which fit Newcrest skills? Going on the slide presentation, Newcrest will be looking beyond the 'traditional search space' and exploring into the 'deeper search space' between 200-1000m. Deep exploration capability is tied in with ground selection, advanced exploration models, targeted use of technology, smarter and rapid interpretation of data, and drilling - early and often. As much as Ausmex investors would like to know the drilling results of Newcrest, the Newcrest exploration team will undoubtedly be keeping abreast of Ausmex developments down the road. The fun will be be when the two drilling teams meet off centre of the middle of the Canteen.
