we know the chicken which laid the egg. the reduced funding of universities and TAFEs, including the Govt encouragement of NGO "training companies" which rorted the change for all they could.

the conservative ideology behind these moves was a dramatic failure to consider consequences, which is the large scale migration problem.

atm the govt cannot simply "stop immigration". the need is for skills and workers with the business end not able to maintain access to the skills required for business growth. this is one factor holding back productivity growth, which taken to the end of the consequential line explains our falling GDP growth.

And Australia will never build enough homes with the levels of migration over the last 20 years it has had irrespective of the amount of money thrown at TAFES or number of builders imported.
So we're doomed to follow the same insane path until there are protests & riots in the streets.

Nothing to do with Conservative ideology, the Conservatives haven't been in power for all of the last 20 years & in none of those years were excess dwellings built.

You need to stop your political bias & take a more objective view of the situation.
