If no competitors exist, sometimes that begs the question if a market even exists for such a product - competition is a good sign.
X-ray machines are no good for imaging the brain, so I don't see how X-ray machines pose any threat to EMV's brain scanner.
MX1 has developed portable X-ray scanners for military and security. They are now looking to develop a small CT scanner (to-date they have developed X-ray scanners, not CT scanners) and this CT scanner is a considerable way behind EMV in development when speaking brain scanners.
NNOX is a $2bn USD company which also has no FDA, is not portable and is an X-ray machine (again, no good for brain imaging).
When speaking about accuracy, I suggest you look at the accuracy of MRI and CT (current gold standards) and I think your concerns may immediately disappear.
