I bought my first 1 bedroom apartment in Manly in 1980 (Ashburner street) just 20 metres from the surf club where i was a member.. no water view but who cares. The building was an old Art Deco one... beautiful high ceiling..fire place etc for $40,000.I lived in it with nothing.. slept on a mattress etc.. bought a small table and a chair at Ikea. How many young people would start like that now??? NOT MANY... they want everything NOW.. bye
