Can I also just say don't read too much into what you see on the bid/ask as it can be grossly misleading and especially so in CVT's instance.

Almost all of the buying is off screen and looks like there is a market maker lurking out there with a allocation that needs to be filled. Can't help but think there is a well orchestrated shakeout in motion.

However, there is a argument that the ability of a market maker to manipulate the bid/ask spread is almost nil. If a market maker tries this, another market maker will enter and simply complete the trade and arbitrage away any gains. So some might argue it won't happen and that prices are set by the buyers and sellers in a fair market.
