You actually can take out loans for trading shares, its tax deductible and called a margin loan.
Whether it's smart or not depends on how successful you are. But better to have the tax deduction than not if you have any other debt.
Much bigger risk in speculative end granted. Don't gamble what you can't afford to pay back.
