Of course climate change is a bigger threat to us than China.

China's population has already peaked as they face fertility decline, and unlike Australia and other developed countries, they don't have immigration to save them as almost no-one wants to move there (and certainly skilled migrants don't). So from here on in China is essentially a declining power. Yes they'll continue to use their economic might to bully and corrupt where they can, and they might even try to invade Taiwan though that's far from certain. But nothing they can realistically do can fundamentally threaten us and our way of life.

Whereas... the noticeably damaging effects of climate change for Australia have only just begun in the past few decades - more frequent and hotter heatwaves, larger forest bushfires, less predictable rainfall, less rainfall overall for SW WA, and of course higher overall temperatures. This is the beginning of a multi-century disaster for Australia which is already at the hot and dry end for human comfort and habitability.

China isn't even 1% the threat of climate change. I understand why this guy felt the need to make the comparison though.
