If ever there was a perpetual apology machine then it would be Peter Beatty.
The bureaucrats who scared the population off the streets and away from the coast meant the games were a big fail from the business point of view. Also, the other big fail was the attitude towards the athletes.
Fancy not including the athletes in the final ceremony. No worries, Peter Beatty, it seems, had his apology speech prepared weeks in advance. As an apology specialist it just slipped out smooth as usual. LOL. Anastasia though got her snout in front of the cameras and this would have been the main priority.
Beatty will be apologising, teeth and all, for the next decade. Don't expect any invites from athletes Pete.
